Guide for car salespeople

The best apps for car salespeople, by the job they do

Not a ranking. A list of what each tool is for, including the ones that compete with ours, so you can pick by the job you need done.

Most “best apps” lists are ads. This one names what each tool does and what it costs where the vendor says so. We make Dealer Duo and it appears below; so do the tools you would use instead of it.

01

Your own page

The one link you put everywhere. The job: show who you are, what is on the lot, and one way to reach you that lands the lead with you.

  • Dealer Duoours

Your page with the whole lot, a page for every vehicle, a trade-in path, reviews, website chat, and leads that land in your own Customers list, with a free trial, then one monthly plan. A free .com is connected for you.

  • LeadLocate

A landing-page site on a shared domain, included with its lead plans, which start at $799 a month for the inbound feed. Inventory is imported from the store's website; a custom domain is optional; activation takes 48 to 72 hours.

You are buying the lead feed. The site comes with it.

  • Car Salesman Websites

A built-for-you personal site with featured vehicles, an about page, and a vehicle request form, from $50 to $149 a month plus a $250 to $350 one-time setup.

  • Linktree, Beacons

General link-in-bio pages, free to start. Fine for a list of links; no live inventory, no vehicle context on the lead, and replies come through whatever app the link opened.

  • FRDDY

A link-in-bio page for professionals with an automotive module (a dealership feed and hand-picked vehicles) on its $199 a month plan. Collects the lead into a list; follow-up happens from your own phone.

02

Texting and calls

The job: reach back fast from a number that is not your personal cell, and keep the thread where you can find it in six months.

  • Dealer Duoours

A work number for two-way texting, calls, and voicemail, in one inbox with email, video, website chat, and Facebook and Instagram messages. Every thread sits on the customer's record; STOP is handled for you.

  • Google Voice

A separate phone number on your own phone, free for personal use. Keeps your cell private; the texts live in Google Voice, apart from your customers.

  • The store's CRM app

VinSolutions, DealerSocket, eLead, CDK, and the rest, if your store gives you a login. Texts sent there belong to the store's record, which is the point for the store and the catch for you.

03

Posting inventory and social

The job: put real cars in front of real people in your area, with your name on them, without spending your evening copying and pasting.

  • Dealer Duoours

Post a vehicle to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn at once, with payment, APR, and lease claims checked against advertising rules first. Replies and comments come back to your inbox, and you see views, reach, and engagement per post.

  • Facebook Marketplace

Where used-car buyers already look. Free to list by hand; the lead is the message, so the job is answering in minutes.

  • AutoLister Pro

A listing tool that posts dealer inventory to Facebook Marketplace and writes the descriptions. Sold to dealers; worth knowing if your store uses it.

  • Meta Business Suite

Facebook's own scheduler for Pages and Instagram. Free, no automotive checks, no inbox for text.

04

Video

The job: a thirty-second walkaround that answers “is it really that clean” without another trip to the lot.

  • Dealer Duoours

Record a video from the inbox, send it by text or email, and see when it is watched.

  • BombBomb, Covideo

Video email and messaging tools with a long history in car sales, with recording, tracking, and templates. Paid, sold per user, and separate from where your customer record lives.

  • Your phone's camera

Free, and most of what matters is lighting and a steady hand. Send it by text, not email, and it will get watched.

05

Reviews

The job: ask once, make it one tap, and show the result where the next buyer will see it.

  • Google Business Profile

The store's reviews, which buyers read first. Ask customers to name you in the review; it is the only way your work shows up there.

  • DealerRater

Dealer and salesperson reviews under one roof, with a profile per employee at participating stores.

  • Dealer Duoours

A reviews section on your own page, and the review-request templates ready to send as a sequence step after delivery.

06

Your customer list

The job: a list of the people who are yours, with the car, the dates, and the thread, that comes with you when you change stores.

  • A spreadsheet

Free and better than memory. Name, number, vehicle, delivery date, next touch. Most salespeople who keep one outsell the ones who don't.

  • Dealer Duo Customersours

Leads and customers with stages, the vehicle, every visit to your page, and every message. Import from your iPhone contacts or a spreadsheet; export any time.

  • The store's CRM

Complete and not yours. Keep your own list alongside it.

07

Training

The job: the road to the sale, objections, and phone skills, practiced somewhere other than on a live customer.

  • Joe Verde Training Network, The Elliott Group

The two names salespeople search for most. Subscription video training on the sales process, with the stores often paying.

  • Dealer Synergy's Millionaire Car Salesman podcast

Free, long-running, and specific to the floor.

  • The word tracks on this site

Free. Sixteen of them, for the phone-up, the price question, the stall, and the asks.

Questions

What apps do car salespeople use every day?
The store's CRM for the leads it assigns, a texting app or work number for follow-up, Facebook Marketplace and Instagram for posting cars, a notes app or spreadsheet for their own customers, and a page or link in bio to point people at. Dealer Duo folds the page, the number, the customer list, the follow-up, and the posting into one app built for the sales associate.
Is there a free CRM for car salespeople?
A spreadsheet is free and better than nothing. Dealer Duo's Customers list, with import from your iPhone contacts or a spreadsheet, comes with every plan, after a free trial. The store's CRM is free to you but the records in it belong to the store.
What is the best app to text customers as a car salesperson?
One that gives you a work number, keeps the thread with the customer's record, and handles STOP replies for you. Texting from your personal number works until you leave the store or a customer texts you at midnight for a year. Google Voice gives you a separate number; Dealer Duo gives you the number plus the inbox, the customer record, and sequences.
Do I need my own website as a car salesperson?
You need one place that is yours to point people at. A link-in-bio page does that for a creator; a salesperson needs the live inventory, a trade-in path, reviews, and a way to reach you that rings your phone. That is a website, even if it takes two minutes to make.
