Follow-up is where car deals are won, and most of it is the same handful of moments: the first reply, the night after the visit, the week they go quiet, delivery, the review. These are the words for those moments. Honest, short, and one question each.

How to use them
Pick the moment, not the message. Each library is grouped by what just happened: a new lead, a visit, a quiet week, a delivery. Find the situation, copy the closest template, and change the brackets to the real name, car, and time.
Send texts within minutes and keep them to one question. Send emails when something belongs in writing. Practice the word tracks out loud until they sound like you, then stop reading them.
What they never do
No fake urgency, no manager who is “about to leave,” no payment without the term, the rate, and the down payment next to it. No asking for five stars. Buyers have read every trick, and the salesperson who skips them is the one they come back to.
Every template identifies you and your store, which is also what texting rules ask for on a first message. Your state and your dealership may add their own lines; leave room for them.
Questions
- Are these car sales templates free to use?
- Yes. Copy any of them, change the brackets, and send them from whatever you use today. They work on their own; they work best saved as snippets and sequences in Dealer Duo, where every message stays with the customer.
- Which template should a new car salesperson start with?
- The first-reply text and the same-day thank-you text. Those two, sent every time, put you ahead of most of the floor. Add the seven-day email and the review request once those are habit.
- Do these follow texting and advertising rules?
- They are written to. Every message says who you are, no payment appears without its term, rate, down payment, and approved-credit line, and nothing invents urgency. Your state and your store may add rules; the templates leave room for them.
